Small World

Mom and I had a great time visiting Waco, TX, the home of HGTV's Fixer Upper. I've got some fun stories to share about our trip, so I'm going to start with this one.

As I'm sure many of you do, I always try to find a local scrapbook store to visit when I'm in a new city. So when I knew I was headed to Texas, I hit the internet and found a couple -- one in Waco called CropPaperScissors. Mom and I got Siri fired up to find this cute little shop.

We were greeted right away by the friendly shop owner, Emmalie Welstead. She let us know that this particular Saturday we could enjoy an adorable make-n-take station. I always jump at the opportunity to make a card, so I headed around the corner and smiled at the lovely lady at the table. My eyes locked on her face and I thought to myself, "this woman is familiar to me, but I've never been to Texas and couldn't possibly know her." Then it dawned on me. "Is your name Cat?", I asked, and she nodded yes. You could tell our brains were whirling trying to place each other. The light bulb flashed on and we realized we know each other as instructors at The Making Place in Escondido! What a small world -- who'd have thunk, right?!

After some squealing and hugging, we enthusiastically sat down to make this cute Easter card with Lawn Fawn stamps, Cat coaching us along the way.

So, if you're in Waco, TX and want to check out a fantastic local scrapbook store, stop by CropPaperScissors and take it all in. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to run into Cat and get your fingers inky! As you know, paper crafters are the nicest folks in the world...and it's a small, friendly world for sure!

Let's Party

We're headed to Waco* today, but I wanted to keep the March celebration going by sharing a quick post with some of this month's kit projects.

My photo editing on these leaves a bit to be desired, but I think you can appreciate the bright, bold colors and patterns of this Simple Stories line called, appropriately, Let's Party. The kit contains the 6x6 paper pad, 12x12 cardstock sticker sheet and a half package of enamel dots all from this new line.

Wow, you're how old?!

Party favors at a birthday celebration are a must... HERE
I'm thrilled to say that our March kits/classes are sold out. April's are just around the corner so "watch this space" for the details.

Wishing you all the luck o' the Irish this fine St. Paddy's Day! Thanks for stopping by and we'll see ya'll soon!

*Mom and I are trekking to the birthplace of HGTV's Fixer Upper to shop Magnolia Market at the Silos, check out the new Magnolia House, and see what we can get up to in Waco, TX. Chip and we come!
