Hi everyone!
Julie with you here today and today I am sharing a card using some of our past Paper Made Bakery kits! I made this one using bits from February and January's kits! :) We are sharing projects using our older kits showing you that it's Easy Being Green! :)
I love to upcycle and recycle! I love going to antique stores with my hubby and kids and finding something that I can turn into a brand new item by adding paper and embellies to them :)
And my family and I love to recycle too!! My daughter is having an ongoing contest at school (she is in Kindergarten) and it is to bring in soda cans and bottles (water, soda etc) in for recycling ... she has been participating in this contest since October, and so far she has turned in almost 4,000 bottles and cans!!! WOW!! How does she get so many???? Well, besides my immediate family, both sets of grandparents also bring their cans and bottles, and I think the most come from my co-workers!! Yes!! My CO-WORKERS!! LOL! I work in a huge corporate office (we have about 3,000 people in my building!) and word has gotten out that my daughter is collecting bottles and cans for a contest at school .... well, my co-workers on a daily basis bring me their cans and bottles!!! YAY!!!! Seriously .. I come home with about 25 to 30 a day for the recycling contest!!! :)
Here is a photo of my daughter with some of her bottles and cans that she has turned into the school!
We have found out from her teacher, that this contest is being sponsored by Waste Management and the money earned from recycling goes to a 09/11 charity -- and the top 12 schools that are participating in this contest receive scholarship money for their school! :) It's a WIN all the way around! :)
How do you recycle and upcycle?!?!?! :)
~Julie
