The Reveal
Thanks so much for stoppin' by,
Michelle
I made this layout of my American Eskimo doggie who passed away on Saturday. After 14 years, how do you do say goodbye to a little bundle of sunshine? As a crafter, part of the process is to scrap my memories of her. This one's for you Lili.
The Details
Sometimes the focus of a project is on the sentiment behind it rather than the design elements on it, but I will point out some features of my layout.
The stamp set this month, "Hot, Hot, Hot," features coffee and tea themed images, but this can still be incorporated onto a pet layout. I stamped the tea cups onto the patterned paper and cut out just the cup base without the handle and saucer to create the food and water bowls. I used a smaller hole punch on a piece of brown scrap paper to make some dog food. I added Lili's pet tag as a final embellishment next to it.
The coffee stirrer made an arrow to go along with the stamped sentiment which made a good caption for the photo.
Since I was making a layout anyways, I looked for a challenge I could enter. I found this sketch challenge that is going on all month long at Sketches in Thyme. If you are going to make a project with your Fresh Baked Kit, why not enter it in some challenges at the same time?
The Kit
All the components of the layout are created from this month's Fresh Baked Kit, Warms Your Heart, except for the 12 x 12" white cardstock background and Lili's pet tag which I added. The 8.5 x 11" cardstock included in the kit is a great size to group and showcase your photos on.
