Would You Like a Spot of Tea?

The Reveal
When I was looking at the cute tea cups in this month's Hot, Hot, Hot stamp set, it got me thinking... why not make a card in the shape of tea packet? This first picture is actually the 3 x 3" envelope.

You fill the top up, just like when opening a tea packet, to pull out the card inside. I cut the card into a tag shape to look like a tea bag. I attached a length of twine to the top and stapled a mini tag on the end to simulate the tea label.

Here is the set altogether. The sentiment from the stamp set is a perfect match as I split it between the card and envelope.

Some details

  • For a subtle pattern on plain cardstock, I repeatedly stamped the dotted heart stamp onto the envelope using embossing ink. Then you can see the shape but not the color.
  • I punched a row of hearts and used just the negative space as a strip. I placed a different pattern behind the heart window and added some fine glitter within the hearts on the envelope for some added shine.
  • I tied a small piece of ribbon onto the stick pin, but unraveled the ribbon so only the fine strands were left for a different look.
  • I crimped three edges of the envelope for a more authentic tea packet look.

The Month
I was busy this month making 7 projects with my Warms Your Heart kit and I still had a ton of leftover materials. Here is a look at my previous 6 projects.

I've really enjoyed making weekly projects with my PMB kits this last year, working with Shannon and the design team, and reading all your kind comments. Thanks so much for your time and indulgence. If you like my work, please stop by and follow me on my blog. Come by tomorrow to meet the new team during February's new release blog hop!

a great big...

I can't believe this is my last post with Paper Made Bakery.
It has been such a fabulous year of kits and projects.
So, I think it is fitting I end with a thank you
using the amazing

This month's Fresh Squeezed Stamp set is absolutely my fave.
But I *might* have a thing for coffee.
I'm using THIS Silhouette file to cut out this cute little gift card holder.

Yep, there is a hidden secret behind.

TIP:  you can turn just about any card or tag into a gift card holder just by
using some strong glue and a square panel of paper.

A great BIG thank you to Shannon at PMB for this amazing opportunity.
It has been FABULOUS fun!

Thanks a Latte!

Hello friends, Jennifer here to share a special card that I made with Shannon and the rest of the Paper Made Bakery team in mind!  I can hardly believe 6 months has flown by and this is my last post as a member of the PMB team - I have loved every minute of it and am constantly inspired by these wonderful kits and the DT creations!

I was dying to use more pink from the kit and have had my eye on this little flowered paper since I got the kit and finally had an idea for it.  I started off making a pink card base and layered the flower paper as the background.  I stamped a strip of coordinating dotty paper and stamped it with one of the sentiments from the FSS stamp set.  I stamped the "to go" cups onto white cardstock and pieced the cups using some more pink paper.  I finished by stamping the little coffee beans in pink.  I just love how this one came out!
Thank you all for your wonderful comments along the way!

You Spin Me Right Round

The Reveal
The colors in this month's Warms Your Heart kit are just so fresh and fun, it makes the cards turn out the same way. I made this as a Valentine's Day card, but if you change up the sayings in the pie chart, it can easily be adapted to suit other occasions. I was thinking of making a birthday one that reads, "All your wishes will come true, Most of your wishes will come true, All you're getting is this card."

The Inspiration
When I saw the "Hot, Hot, Hot" stamp set this month, my first idea was to turn the coffee stirrer into a game spinner. I wanted to work on some other projects and the idea fell to the wayside. Luckily I jotted down my idea in my planner, so later on in the month I could remember to create it.

The Details
I punched a 2" circle on pink cardstock. I hand cut some triangles and laid them on the circle like pieces of a pie with the back edge protruding from the circle. I cut around the circle to trim off the edges and round off the triangles. To give it a border, I adhered the pie chart onto a 2.25" punched pink cardstock circle.

To make the spinner, I stamped the stirrer onto white cardstock, trimmed one end to a point and attached it to the center of the pie chart using a brad. To make it spin better, I would leave more room around the stirrer when trimming to give the center hole more clearance for the brad.

All the supplies, except for the brad, came from this month's Warms Your Heart kit

Have fun creating this month!

Thanks so much for droppin' by,

Such a fun sentiment for my coffee or tea friends.
Nothing is more calming than a yummy cup of coffee.

I'm using another strip of the stickers included in the kit as well.
Those polka dots are just darn adorable.

You Warm My Heart

Hello friends, Jennifer here to share with you another card I made with the amazing January kit, "Warms Your Heart"!  I've loved creating with this kit and this team and it is hard to believe my term is up and next week will be my last post!  I just adore the work of the very talented ladies taking over and can't wait to see what they create!!

I've been on somewhat of a monochromatic kick the past few days and this card is no exception.  I took one of the blue sheets of cardstock and made a card base out of it (I just adore that color!!).  I tied it with the black and white twine from the kit and then layered two coordinating papers from the mini deck.  I stamped the little mug and the coffee cup onto the white cardstock, cut them out, and popped them off of the card.  I finished by adding chunky glitter to the whipped cream for some sparkle.

Check out all of the goodies you'll get in this wonderful kit -
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I'll see you next week!
