The Reveal
When I was looking at the cute tea cups in this month's Hot, Hot, Hot stamp set, it got me thinking... why not make a card in the shape of tea packet? This first picture is actually the 3 x 3" envelope.
You fill the top up, just like when opening a tea packet, to pull out the card inside. I cut the card into a tag shape to look like a tea bag. I attached a length of twine to the top and stapled a mini tag on the end to simulate the tea label.
Here is the set altogether. The sentiment from the stamp set is a perfect match as I split it between the card and envelope.
Some details
- For a subtle pattern on plain cardstock, I repeatedly stamped the dotted heart stamp onto the envelope using embossing ink. Then you can see the shape but not the color.
- I punched a row of hearts and used just the negative space as a strip. I placed a different pattern behind the heart window and added some fine glitter within the hearts on the envelope for some added shine.
- I tied a small piece of ribbon onto the stick pin, but unraveled the ribbon so only the fine strands were left for a different look.
- I crimped three edges of the envelope for a more authentic tea packet look.
The Month
I was busy this month making 7 projects with my Warms Your Heart kit and I still had a ton of leftover materials. Here is a look at my previous 6 projects.
I've really enjoyed making weekly projects with my PMB kits this last year, working with Shannon and the design team, and reading all your kind comments. Thanks so much for your time and indulgence. If you like my work, please stop by and follow me on my blog. Come by tomorrow to meet the new team during February's new release blog hop!
Bidding you a fond farewell,
