Let's go {out of the box} + video

I thought we'd go out of the box a little today.
This is a fun technique for stamps or beautiful patterned paper.

So what is it exactly?

Out of the box: trimming an image outside a defined shape so that the image extends beyond the border of the shape but still attached in one piece.

Need a few examples.
Well, I just so happen to have a couple.
hee hee

I stamped the beautiful cherry blossom branch three times (masking off the middle one) and then used the out of the box technique to trim out the rectangle.  I love the dramatic effect of the branches outside the borders.

On the branches hang some little knots from the orange/pink ribbon included in the kit.  And the vase was cut out using my Cameo.  The perfect little sentiment for the end of the year teacher thank yous.  I know some of you might be in need of them!

For this card, I only cut outside the box on one side of the bird and branch patterned paper.  There is more than one way to go outside the box.  :)  It is popped and layered over more of that beautiful patterned paper by Basic Grey in the kit.  And some Cameo cut letters spelling out Arigato match the Asian theme.  Arigato means thank you in Japanese. I can never leave our favorite sushi restaurant without 3 sushi chefs yelling 'Arigato' at me.  They always make me smile.

I have a quick video showing how to accomplish the out of the box technique.

Here is another peek at the

So much to love.
This kit is going to disappear quick!
Better GRAB IT while you can.
