Hello PMB friends, this is Michelle here today with a quick lil' project to share. I was asked by my DH to bake some muffins for a colleague who is leaving his staff. I baked some for the whole staff to eat and then packaged up a dozen for the person leaving. By the time I finished backing and wrapping, it was getting late and I still wanted to make a tag or card to go along with it. I asked my DH if he preferred a card for the whole staff to sign or just a gift topper. Guess what he chose?
I just grabbed my Portobello Road Kit and whipped up this gift topper. I paper pieced a cupcake design using two pieces of scrap Pink Paislee London Market paper. I ran the bottom piece through a crimper to make it look more like a cupcake liner. I ran a piece of the thin ribbon across the cupcake and hung the ticket through the heart. Instead of a sentiment, I wrote a note on the ticket.
I placed the topper on a skewer which I didn't want exposed on the back. I made two layers and attached them together with foam tape so the skewer would be hidden inside. Here is a view of the seedy underbelly of my project.
This only took me 15 minutes to make. If you ever need to make something in a jiffy, just grab a fresh baked kit and mix together the contents. I'll sure you'll love the results.
Thanks for stoppin' by!
