This altered cigar box uses loads of Cosmo Cricket "Salt Air", which is both soothing and whimsical. There are fun prints and patterns, childhood whimsy and even touches of vintage nostalgia. I added little wooden spools for feet, a stacked button "knob" to open the box and a wire handle with lots of funky ribbon choices.

It's truly summertime now, and our nation's birthday -- the fourth of July -- and I'm likely sitting on the beach in Cape Cod as you read this. Have a safe and happy Fourth -- Happy Birthday, America! Break out the sparklers and have a slice of watermelon for me! And for more beachy, artistic goodness check out my good friend Jenn Shurkus' {creative chick} blog...
"It is an interesting biological fact that all of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea--whether it is to sail or to watch it--we are going back from whence we came." - John F. Kennedy
