I made a nifty mini album for my sister's Mother's Day gift, gave it to her during our Mother's Day lunch and then told her I'd have to "borrow" it back because it was doubling as a class sample! The Offbeat Charmer mini album was a hit and I'm happy to say that my sis got her Mother's Day gift on Father's Day -- maybe we'll just call it Parents' Day today! So, today we all met for lunch at the same place, only this time we were celebrating the dads. Not that I normally give special gifts for EVERY holiday, but for some reason I knew I wanted to make a little something photo-based for Jeff, my brother-in-law.
As I browsed my "usual suspects" in Favorite Blog Land yesterday I came across a project that really caught my eye. I was visiting Lisa Johnson's Poppy Paperie and knew instantly that I needed to borrow her cool frame idea for Jeff's gift. I didn't have all the same stamps, or the exact paint color, and I knew I couldn't put THAT many gorgeous flowers on a guy's gift, so I modified it a bit. I added a quick snapshot of my niece that was taken Friday at the county fair, so Jeff hadn't seen it yet. I think this little frame turned out really well. So well, in fact, that I'm going to make several more! Need a customized gift for someone special and don't have time to get your craft on? Leave a comment or send me an email and I'll get you set up with the PERFECT gift!
