Getting in the spirit of Christmas

It's always amazing to me how quickly the days pass. November is hours away and the holidays will be upon us. I'm definitely not complaining, as I love the holidays, and I'm very much looking forward to making Christmas cards.

Here are samples of the cards we'll make in our November classes. We're using a new Christmas line by My Mind's Eye called Comfort & Joy.

Coordinating washi tape makes everything special!

Beautiful Bugs & Botanicals

Here's a sneak peek at Graphic 45's new collection called Nature Sketchbook...do you love it?! The colors are AHmazing! Even the accessories are outstanding, and the details in these graphics are gorgeous. I really think this is a beautiful collection with lots of possibilities.

What do you think -- would you attend a card making and/or home decor workshop using this new paper line? Let me know if you're interested -- the workshops would take place in San Diego county.

Feel free to just let me know what you think of the line itself, regardless of interest in a workshop.

Have a terrific week ahead!

Ol' Cape Cod

Many of you may know how much Mom and I love Cape Cod. We try to get back there as often as possible, so it may come as no surprise that we're headed to Boston this weekend! We're ready to spend the week sightseeing, eating, shopping, and generally adventuring all around the Cape. It never, ever gets old!

We hope to check out the start of cranberry harvest...

...and we're renting a little cottage in Sandwich, a town we've not stayed in before...

Source

...but we always LOVE visiting Sandwich...

Source

...and we'll stroll along Main Street in Hyannis because there's always something new or something old we love to see...

...and one of our favorites pastimes of all?

It wouldn't be a visit to Cape Cod without a visit (or several!!) to The Polar Cave!

If you've visited Cape Cod before, what are some of your favorite things to do and see? If you've not visited, you must, and these lyrics from the old Patti Page song tell you why...

If you're fond of sand dunes and salty air
Quaint little villages here and there
(You're sure)You're sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod
(Cape Cod, that old Cape Cod)

If you like the taste of a lobster stew
Served by a window with an ocean view
(You're sure)You're sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod

Winding roads that seem to beckon you
Miles of green beneath a sky of blue
Church bells chimin' on a Sunday morn
Remind you of the town where you were born

If you spend an evening you'll want to stay
Watching the moonlight on Cape Cod Bay
You're sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod
(aah, aah)

If you spend an evening you'll want to stay (on Cape Cod Bay)
Watching the moonlight on Cape Cod Bay
You're sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod
You're sure to fall in love
You're sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod

Be sure to stop back again and get the "scoop" about our trip!

Hitting the Road

Hey there, long time no see! My summer has been a blast...teaching loads of card making classes all over San Diego (big shout out to my buddies at The Stamp Addict!), checking off tons on my never-ending To Do List, and visiting/road tripping with my BFF in northern CA.

Cheesy tourists at Alcatraz Island

In keeping with the summer road trip theme, our August card making workshops will feature The Great Outdoors by Carta Bella and some stinkin' cute stamps and embellies, too! Here are just a couple of the cards we're making in our August card workshops:

Retro tiny trailer (Stampendous) is hittin' the road...

Using Lawn Fawn's new slider dies and that adorable little skunk!

I can almost smell the campfire and taste the s'mores right now! Hope your summer is coming along swimmingly and you're enjoying some great weather with your family and friends. Thanks for stopping!

Mmmm, donuts

Homer Simpson loves donuts. I adore donuts and consider myself quite the connoisseur. Let's hope that's the limit to our similarities!

That's why I'm so excited about June's card making workshops. We'll use Paper Made Bakery kits that include Lawn Fawn's super adorable Perfectly Plaid 6x6 paper pad and Donut Worry mini stamp set, plus lots of other goodies. I've been inspired by several awesome designers using these products. Here are a couple samples of the cards and tags we'll make...

Makes Us Happy

Today I'm sharing a card made by Carol, one of my super creative students, created with the new Lawn Fawn set called "Rooting For You" and her brand, spanking new MISTI tool.

Created & shared by Carol Dacey

We love how crisp and bright solid stamps come out when using the MISTI. And how adorable are those root veggies?!

Gotta love when our crafty purchases make us look so good, right?
