Dress It Up

Welcome to the long Labor Day Weekend!  I hope everyone gets to take a break from work to enjoy this final weekend of summer.  The good news?  Autumn is just around the corner and that means fall foliage, apples galore and warm fuzzy sweaters!

This is our final post of August and we're wrapping up our regularly scheduled programming.  :-)  We sure hope you've enjoyed spending time with Paper Made Bakery and our Fresh Baked Kits.  I've loved every minute -- and just wanted to tell you that.  Another BIG thank you to our guest designers this month:  Tenia Nelson, Niki Garcia, Melissa Shea and Jenn Shurkus.  You ladies ROCK!

We'll continue to offer our past Fresh Baked Kits until they're gone, so think about making one a special gift for a crafty friend or relative, or maybe you'd like to put a couple onto your own Christmas list!  We can work out all the details of getting them shipped to just the right person (just about anywhere in the world!)  All of our design team samples, inspiration, and fun ideas will be right here so come on back and enjoy.

So, here's a little card I made with the One Scrappy Dame kit.  I made the origami dress by watching this video and found it to be a fairly simple creation. I've several of these dresses and thought they'd be fun to use for a variety of occasions, depending on the color and patterned paper you chose.  Here I've used the sassy black and white chevron patterned paper for the dress, some ribbon and a little button, then layered it all onto the bright yellow honeycomb card front.  All of this, as well as the clear stamp set, is included in the kit!

The tiny red rhinestones are from my stash.  On the inside of the card I included a white insert layer and then used the fun polka dot border stamp from the You Said It, Sister set with pretty red ink to make a splash -- that's a great border stamp to jazz up any card!

So, that wraps up August!  Have a relaxing weekend and we'll see you at:

Toot-A-Loo

Aloha!  It's Niki and I can't believe it's the end of the month already!  I've had a blast being a Guest Designer and playing with the One Scrappy Dame Kit.  This is my last post and wanted to thank Shannon and everyone who has stopped by to show their support.  I'm so blessed to have had this opportunity!  Just take a look at everything I was able to play with!!!

I thought it only fitting that I use my favorite sentiment from the Fresh Squeezed Stamp set You Said It Sister.

So the papers have a little distressed look to it and I wanted to follow along by smudging up my card base to get a grease monkey feel.  Hope you like!  There may be a kit or two left so click here to get yours today!!

Toot-a-loo and MAHALO for stopping by!!!!

Happy Birthday + Review

Hello Bakery Friends!

Melissa here with a fun Happy Birthday card. I'll also include my other projects I've shared throughout the month! After a month of amazing projects and inspiration from all the ladies, hop over and buy your kit HERE :)

Above: for this card I focused on altering the stamps (cut...gasp...the stamp a part! Don't worry-you can mount it back on an acrylic block) and a label sticker (it was a chat bubble but the pointy thingy was on the wrong side!).

A totally fun kit! I want to thank Shannon for having me this month! I wish her much luck with Fresh Squeezed Stamps!

Celebrate Your Special Day

Hey everyone! It's Tuesday, so that means I'm (jenn) back with another post for you! Here is my last card as a guest designer here at Paper Made Bakery. Even though PMB will be no more I am *wicked* excited to see what Shannon will be up to with Fresh Squeezed Stamps! I again used a mix of the papers in the Glitz 6x6 paper pad and the Glitz layering papers. I cut this "scrappy dame" out of one of the papers as well. The fabulous sentiment is part of the  Fresh Squeezed stamps that all come in the One Scrappy Dame kit (the pearls and black cardstock are too!).

Be sure to purchase your own kit, before they are all gone! Thank you so much Shannon for inviting me to design for you- wishing you luck in your extra time devoted to Fresh Squeezed Stamps! Be sure to visit me on my own site shurkus.com for continued inspiration!

Huba Huba

Hello Bakery Peeps!

Melissa here for today's Wednesday post!

Ok, these flair badges that come in this kit, are ah-mazing!

How fun is that "Huba Huba"? Love it! I thought it would be a fun anniversary card.

I had to tilt the card at this weird angle because of the lights and that gorgeous badge, it was bright and shiny and front and center, haha!

Thanks for stopping by!

thank you

Hey everyone! It's Tuesday, so that means I'm (jenn) back with another post for you! Here is a fun thank you card using a mix of the papers in the Glitz 6x6 paper pad, the Glitz layering papers, the Glitz stickers and the fabulous Fresh Squeezed stamps that all come in the One Scrappy Dame kit (the buttons and ribbons are too!). I absolutely LOVE LOVE the polka dot background stamp that comes in this kit, and stamping it in teal makes me love it even more! I only used a bit of the cherry sticker, and I added a bit of glossy accents to those cherries to make them POP!

One of my favorite tools is my Quickie glue pen, and this is what I used on the word "thank you" with some ultrafine black glitter- it's so pretty in person! Be sure to purchse your own kit, before they are all gone!

Hope you have enjoyed my bit of inspiration today- have a wicked fun week!

Swag and Glitz

Happy Friday everyone!  It's Shannon here with a little card I made using the One Scrappy Dame kit.  I love the vintage, shabby chic style and slightly naughty Mrs. Cleaver-type dames found all over the Glitz products!

I took some "airmail" baker's twine and loosely swagged it across the front of the card, then stapled it to the card front with a Tiny Attacher.  I cut the banner shapes with my Silhouette Cameo using the Kachina (teal) Bazzill card stock, punched circles from scraps of patterned paper, and put the finishing touch on by adding little buttons.  {sorry for the slightly blurry photo}  All that bold color on a black card base makes for a fun, yet striking, thank you note!

Don't forget to grab one of the very last One Scrappy Dame Fresh Baked Kits -- once they're gone, they're gone!

We do have a limited supply of past kits for sale, so check them out HERE.  Thanks for stopping by today and have yourself a fantastic weekend!

Blooming Thanks

Happy Aloha Thursday gang!  I'm Niki, fellow PMB subscriber, back as promised with another fun creation using everything from this month's kit One Scrappy Dame.  The pattern paper included speaks for itself, and makes die cuts look so fab!

The blooms in the corner are actually doily die cuts that I smooshed together in the center and adhered with a button and pearl...all included!  I loved the line pattern paper and used that as my backdrop.

Do you likey?  I really loved that red button and decided to heat emboss the sentiment in red to match!  Here's another peek at everything in the kit...

It's filled with tons of goodies that I know you want to play with!  C'mon go check it out before it runs out!!!

Congrats!

Hey everyone! It's Jenn again.... hoping to continue to inspire you with another creation from the One Scrappy Dame kit.

I have been craving a way to use the *wicked* cute paper straws that are showing up everywhere- and I finally came up with an idea!

A fun little "congrats" flag! I used foam tape behind the pattern paper making the flag, and a little bit of glossy accents down the length of the straw to hold it in place! I also used the polka dot border stamp from the kit to stamp a distressed background. To create this look: I inked up the stamp with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, spritzed it a little with water and then stamped 2 times, before re-inking and starting the process again. I used my edge distresser on the yellow pattern paper from the Glitz 6x6 pad that comes in the kit. A sprinkle of some red buttons (with nothing through the holes, this is tough for me ;) ) and some more gold stickles! Voila! Have you purchased your "One Scrappy Dame" kit yet? I would love to see what you have created with it- leave a link in the comments I promise to leave some love on your post!

Blog Hop Beauties

Howdy, it's Shannon here.  How are you enjoying our outstanding guest design team?! Aren't they incredible?  It's so much fun to see what these ladies come up with using our One Scrappy Dame kit -- I love the surprise of seeing their projects every morning, just like you. Be sure you leave them nice comments this month because everyone loves to be encouraged and feel the great support of our crafty community.

So now comes the hard part.  I want to start by saying that Paper Made Bakery has enjoyed so many wonderful adventures over the past couple years and we're grateful for all the crafty friends we've made.  I want to personally thank all our past and present Baker's Dozen subscribers -- your loyalty and support have brought us oodles of happiness.  It's always nice to hear your comments about how much our kits have been enjoyed.  I also want to thank all of our design team members over the years for their generous gift of creativity and inspiration.

As you may know, in addition to owning Paper Made Bakery, I co-own Fresh Squeezed Stamps, the wonderful clear stamps you've enjoyed in our kits.  So it's with both sadness AND excitement that I tell you this August kit is the last Paper Made Bakery will produce. After much thought, weighing all the options,  and the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day, I've decided to focus my time and energies toward growing Fresh Squeezed Stamps into the phenomenal company it can become.  Paper Made Bakery, as you know it now, will no longer produce new monthly kits; past kits will be available until sold out.  I'm looking forward to lots more adventures and fulfilling my dreams, which includes staying very active in the crafting community.  I hope you'll all come along and share your passion for paper and ink!

And now comes the FUN part -- we've had a week-long giveaway and there were lots of entries.  Since this is a pretty special occasion, we decided to ADD ANOTHER WINNER, so TWO lucky people will receive a mini Fresh Baked Kit.  And those two lucky ducks are:

ERICA JOHNSON
LISA BANKES-LAHIFF

Congratulations, ladies!  Please contact us with your mailing address and we'll get your mini kits sent right out to you.

*Winners have seven (7) days from the announcement to contact us with their information; otherwise, an alternate winner will be chosen.

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.  -Walt Disney

Hello Beautiful!

Aloha and Happy Thursday PMBers!  It's Niki, back to show off some more of the lovely One Scrappy Dame Kit.  Just check out all the amazing goodness that comes in this kit...

I tend to shy away from scrapbooking, but the kit comes with soooo many possibilities that I just had to gather them together on a single page.  The best part about the kits is that it all coordinates!  It makes layouts come together a heck of a lot faster than if I gathered bits and pieces on my own.

I made my own 11.5" x 12" paper by using the cardstock included in the kit and gluing them together.  There's this fabulous chevron ribbon in the kit that I used to cover the joining of the pieces.  Everything on my layout is from the kit!

Don't you just love those buttons!?!  There's a ton of them in the kit so there's no need to hoard them...haha!  I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed on the pattern paper that was die cut.  Here's another closeup...

And yes, that's my 7 year old growing up way too quickly for me!  So if you don't have the kit yet, what are ya waiting for...you too can make fabulous projects quickly as everything you need is in the kit!  Check it out here!!!

Celebrate!

Hi & Hello!

Melissa here today with my first solo Guest Design post! I must say this kit is one of my favorites! Tons of goodies, makes me smile when I go through my box :)

I wanted to play with the gorgeous polka-dots from the stamp set:

I used Distress Ink to get a splotchy look. If you used another ink, the stamping would be bold and fun for a different look.

Just by changing up your inks, the stamping can make the card a totally different style! I love all the sentiments too, especially, "toot-a-loo", so unique!

One Scrappy Dame Kit

These kits go FAAASSTT! Snag yours while you can!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend (you made it to Wednesday, you can see the weekend from here!).

Just Because

Hey everyone! It's Jenn- and I am *wicked* excited to be guest designing here at Paper Made Bakery this month- I hope you enjoy my creations just as much as I enjoyed making them! It is such a fun challenge to create items just from the kit. I love how it gets me a bit out of my comfort zone and in a different play mode.

Today I have a fun card for you made with the "One Scrappy Dame" kit- which BTW- have you purchased it yet? What are you waiting for? :)

I love the mix of pattern papers the Glitz 6x6 pad gives you and when you fall in love with a pattern that's ok because there are 3 sheets of the same one! *phew* For the sentiment I cut a strip out of the same background paper (it actually was my scrap when I cut the 6x6 piece down to 4 x 5.25 to fit the card) and made it into a pennant. I used some foam tape to set it up off the card and give it a little dimension. For some extra glitz I added a little gold stickles here and there, it's a bit tough to see in the picture, but it is really pretty in person!

Hope you enjoyed this creation and it inspires you to see what you can do with the "One Scrappy Dame" kit ! I'll see you next Tuesday!
