A Card to Brighten Your Day!

 Hey everyone ... it's Angi!

This month's "How's the Weather?" kit really brightens my day!

The paper and pretty colors are just so pretty for card making!

The kit comes with kraft paper too!

I made this pretty doily with the kraft paper using my die cutter.

It's a fun element to add to a card.

Here's a close-up of the adorable Crate paper
 that's included in the kit!

This project was sooo fun to make!

Be sure to order your kit today!

Happy Creating!

Triangle Delight

Hi everyone. It's me Vera Yates. Today I am sharing a CAS card that I simply love. To create the pattern, I used the sun ray from Fresh Squeezed Stamps "Weather Through" set included in this month's How's The Weather? kit. I stamp the triangle in various color and end up with this:

The bird was cut using Memory Box die. The stamp and the patterned paper are from this February kit:

CAS card makes my heart sing. Oh... and birdie, too. :)

Color Your World

A bit ago I posed the question -- What do you do for ink pad storage?  I got a few suggestions, but even more I-need-help-with-that-too responses.  I'm working on that...and in the meantime I wanted to share a fantastic solution to your Copic (or any other) marker storage "issue".
A thing of beauty...
I didn't think I had a marker storage issue, per se, but when I happened upon the Color Cubbies from Studio 3 Solutions, I just knew these would make my creative life easier!!

When I asked Tami, who owns Studio 3 Solutions with her husband, about her unique product she mentioned that she, too, is a paper crafter who uses Copics in her creative projects.  Since her family also owns a custom cabinetry business, Color Cubbies are a true product of the adage: Necessity is the mother of invention!  She loved what they made so much, a couple years ago they began to share them with the world, so some of you may already have a few of your own.
They fit together to create a great modular unit!
Color Cubbies took a short hiatus so the family could wrap up other business needs, but were reintroduced this past November.  These wonderfully useful Cubbies are made in the U.S.A., are very affordable, and Studio 3 Solutions does a fabulous job packing and shipping them quickly.  And I'm not the only one loving these Cubbies - you should check out the glowing reviews they've gotten.

We're THRILLED that Color Cubbies are available again and I'm absolutely positive you'll want some yourself.  And, through the generosity of Tami and Studio 3 Solutions, we're GIVING AWAY a Color Cubbie to a lucky Paper Made Bakery friend!

Use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter -- multiple entries are available!  We'll announce the winner on Friday, March 1, 2013.  Good luck and start thinking about where you'll put your new Color Cubbies!!

Giveaway ends at midnight on Thursday, February 28, 2013:

Ruffled Moon

Happy Friday everyone!  Welcome to Paper Made Bakery!  It's my last Friday with February's How's the Weather? Kit.  Can't wait to see what is in March's kit - so excited!

I have a photo tutorial for you today.  I may have gone a little overboard with the photos... just a head's up!  I'm going to talk about ribbon ruffles today.  I'm using the gold and silver ribbon from the February kit.

To ruffle a ribbon, you just need a sewing machine and some ribbon. Set your stitch length quite low.  I put mine on 6.  You might have to experiment with your tension a bit too.

Yes, my sewing machine is older than I am!  It works though, even if the tension is a bit temperamental sometimes.  There is no computer to fry either.

Next, run a stitch down the centre of the ribbon.  In this case it is easy to follow the line.  If it isn't perfectly straight, don't worry.  Don't back stitch to secure the stitches.  The threads need to be free.  Leave long ends on the threads.

If it doesn't seem to work the first time (tension off, stitches the wrong length), just pull it out and start again.  The ribbon is usually quite forgiving.

Take one end of one thread and pull to gather the ribbon.

You can play around with how tight or loose you want the gathers to be.

To secure it on to the paper, I just used a bit of narrow double sided tape on both edges, front and back.

This is how it all came together.  I was originally going to just use a purple moon but didn't like how it looked so stamped and trimmed a yellow moon to put on top.  Stamped, glittered and fussy cut the star. I stamped the sentiment right on the dry embossed panel.

You can always find out what we are up to via Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

Hope you found this fun and useful.  Have a fabulous day and a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!

Kiss Pocket Flat Cards

Hey everyone...It's Angi

My oldest daughter is in town from San Diego. We've been making loads of goodies for her college buddies using this month's Fresh Baked Kit - "How's The Weather?"

We made some flat notecards and stapled a small Hershey Kiss goodie bag to the front. Each card is "dressed up" with the adorable Crate paper that is included in the kit.

I also used some Fresh Squeezed Stamps to add the cloud and sentiment. These fabulous stamps are included as well.

This project was sooo fun to make!

Be sure to order your kit today!

Wild thing ... you make my heart sing!

Hi everyone!!

Julie with you here today to share a layout I made with the February "How's the Weather?" kit :)

I cut out three sheets of the Crate paper in this month's kit into 2x2 inch squares to make the background of my layout :)

Then I used a little star stamp to help create my frame around my daughter's photo! :)

And before I head out - I want to wish my baby boy Adam a 16th birthday!! :)

All Occasion Card

Hi everyone. Vera's here today to share an all occasion card. Because sometimes you need those blank cards that can be used for anything. :)

This card is a mini card with measurement 4" x 3". I love experimenting with different card sizes. And, I decided to have the card fold on the side even though it's a horizontal card.

To thread the ribbon, I simply cut a slit on the fold mark and slip the ribbon in. Since I don't want to tie the ribbon into a bow, I tied a string around it (see pic below) and then thread the string through the button accent.

Once that done, I die cut the woodgrain patterned paper using Spellbinders frame die and add faux stitching all around. Stamp umbrella directly on the woodgrain patterned paper and then once again on the flower one, fussy cut it and adhere to the first one. Then adhere the finished piece to the card and you're done.

Easy peasy but still pretty. What do you think? Do you normally make blank card or do you feel you have to add sentiment?

All the products (except the button and string) comes from this kit, How's The Weather?:

Over the Moon

It's Shannon here, taking just a moment before our Paper Made Bakery class today to share a super simple card I made with the How's The Weather? Fresh Baked Kit:

While most of the time I'd balk at the "splotchy" central image, in this case I think it's perfect for the moon and its craters!  :-)

To hide the ribbon on the inside of the card I added a fuchsia card stock panel and then a few more stars on the right side as a finishing touch:

I'm off to have a fantastically fun time with some crafty PMB peeps here in San Diego. We're making five cards today with the kit...and maybe munching on some goodies, laughing a lot, and generally having a great time.  Hope your day goes the same!

Hello Everyone!!

Its me Piali here sharing a mini tabletop calender with you all.
I used Feb fresh baked kit... "How's the Weather?" for this project.

Here is my mini calender...

I made the flower by simply folding the punched circle in quarts and attaching them in center with a brad from the kit.
All products are from the kit...only the peacock feather is a local find.

Greetings from the Northwest....

Hello...it's Amy T.

The How's the Weather kit screams Seattle...

Umbrellas, Clouds and Rain drops?!

Perfect!

The sentiment is from my stash, everything else is from the kit!

This is a pretty monochromatic-like card for me...I was itching to pop some colors on there but I wanted the rain drops to stand out:

The drops have been heat embossed with glittery embossing powder!

The umbrella was nakey chipboard that I loaded up with my Memento Tuxedo ink pad.

What's not to love about his fun kit?!
