Back to school...ah, the smell of freshly sharpened pencils and new crayons!  Do you remember the excitement and shopping frenzy leading up to the first day of the new school year?  When I was really little I looked forward to picking out my new lunch box (with a Thermos -- no juice boxes back then).
A trip to JCPenney or Sears to pick up new duds -- not my favorite part of the back-to-school routine then
Toughskins
As I pushed into the upper elementary grades, all my friends (well, everyone, really) had a few of these babies -- and the more graffiti on them, the cooler you were!
PeeChee folders
Oh, but then the "latest thing" became the Trapper Keepers.  How I loved the snap flap and pocket folders to keep myself organized!
I'll leave you with a few of my favorite fashions from my school days (NOTE:  I didn't look ANYthing like this model!)
Ditto Jeans
And these dainty things:
Famolare - Get There
Enjoy all your own fun, back-to-school rituals!  See you in class!

  9. I went to elementary school in Pennsylvania, junior high in California, high school in Maryland, and college in California! You need to know.....we did not have Peechees or Trapper Keepers back there! But I rocked CSUF in my best preppy outfits in September 1981, despite it being 100 degrees!!

  10. PS. I LOVE THIS KIT!!! One of the reasons I love Paper Made Bakery so much (OK, I really love Shannon, and thusly, her company!) is that she is so into the vintage looks....this one just takes the cake! I gotta go YouTube me some Ed Sullivan Show!! :)
