In Stitches - June's Fresh Baked Kit

The project is complete and I state again that I LOVE it!  This altered cigar box project is, well, several things.  It's first of all a treasured work of {he}art -- to me.  The footed case is almost a little purse replica that is truly a one-of-a-kind handmade card keeper.  The papers and many embellishments are from Cosmo Cricket's newest line, Material Girl, plus lots of Maya Road Sew Cute mini chipboard pieces, vintage buttons and dress pattern tissue, wooden spools, cool ribbon and coordinating Bazzill cardstock.

I currently love working with Mod Podge and have used it on several recent projects.  It reminds me of when I was a kid decoupaging Holly Hobby onto plaster of Paris wall plaques!  I made a mini envelope from some of the cardstock and attached it inside to keep postage stamps.  The card keeper will hold up to a dozen handmade cards with envelopes and I've got a few great ones to share with you, so drop by in a couple days to check them out. Oh yeah, the back features an interactive paper doll panel that I made using lots of the chipboard pieces included and some Basic Grey Closures (magnets) I had in my stash.  I thought the sentiment, Friends Keep You In Stitches, fit perfectly.

My mom and I are flying out tomorrow morning (yep, at the crack of dawn) to head up to the Farm Chicks Antique Show in Spokane, WA.  I'm shopping for any and all kinds of vintage goodies to include in future kits!

Creating a slideshow in a short amount of time is just a tad beyond my capabilities, so I've created a new blog header showcasing a few photos of the project and will post as many as possible on the website, so click here to see them.  You can order your kit, which includes everything you need to create this project PLUS tons more to make lots of cards for inside the box, under the Fresh Baked Kits tab at Paper Made Bakery.  Have a great weekend!
